New Bike Day - Nov 6, 2012

After months of looking at dozens of bikes and after test riding a few bikes I've made a decision for my bike.
I would like to officially introduce the newest member to Total Motorcycle family.
A 2013 Moto Guzzi V7 Stone. I loved it so much after the demo ride that I knew this would be my next bike. If you haven't yet taken one for a demo ride, you should, they are extremely fun to ride.
Thanks to Mike at MPH Cycles
www.mphcycles.com/ in Houston for a great Moto Guzzi. Go see him if you would like a free test ride.

I was a little worried that it was a small (in statue) bike, but parked next to Andrea's Ninja 650R it's actually a little bigger, which was a surprise to me. Also I had to fill up on my way home (unforunately I didn't get a full tank of gas with the bike) and got a complement from another biker who was filling up near by as well. Pretty cool that; and he was a really nice guy too.

Thanks for the compliments on the bike. I really had a tough time deciding on the color. I wasn't sure weather to go with the flat black (which they had in stock) or the glossy white (which needed to be ordered). Thanks to my wife, our friends Bruce and Jenn and the dealer Mike (another Mike, go figure) and days of thinking about it all, I got the flat black one. Usually I'm not a black bike fan nor a flat paint fan, but on the V7 it looks really nice; just have to resist the temptation to polish it! (argh, must polish bike!). haha.
P.S. More photos to follow, these one just quickies I did when I parked.

Very nice!!!
I've always wanted a Guzzi, probably will get one one day...
You must now get a aftermarket pipe to make the Goose sing!

And for another photo of me picked up my bike today! Andrea is currently on the "very" stage of jealous.

I just spent the last hour taking off all the stickers.

You really should go and test ride one. The V7 Stone is the most reasonably priced Guzzi, but it's still 100% Guzzi, 100% Italian style. (did you know 100% of the parts on the MG are made in Italy? Not that's something).
Interesting enough you should mention an aftermarket pipe as that is on order!!! The dealer says my Minstral exhaust ($600) should be in by the weekend. Aparently, the Minstal pipes are "the one" to get for the best "Moto Guzzi Music".

ty. As I learned, you can't go wrong with either choice.

Ah. Isn't this weird eh? Back in Calgary or London I'd be putting the bike away or soon putting the bike way, here in Houston it's motorcycling season! Today was 90°F or about 28°C... crazy.

i just noticed. it is a really cool bike but why does it have those old looking rubber thingies on the front suspension?
i thought those things are relics of past already. even modern dirtbikes don't have those anymore right?
not trying to rain on the parade, just curious why is still has it.
