I was getting ready to go for a quick fun ride around town (very low traffic due to most people being stuck with their nose on the TV for some sport event). As I usually am pretty careful about checking the bike on a (fairly) regular basis, I checked the tire pressure before taking off. While inflating the tire, I just realize that there's a huge crack on my front tire!!!
This is a tire I recycled from my racing bike, which explains the wear on the tire sides.
Has any of you seen anything like it? This just doesn't look like a crack created by riding on something sharp, it looks more like the rubber just failed.
The tire is a Dunlop GP-A and it's less than a year old. I used it for a couple of track days and a race day.

Due to the picture being so close up to the wheel, it looks as though your tire has been mounted backwards. Is this true?

Not too worried about it here since it NEVER rains (Ugh!)

Still, they're designed to take loads in a certain direction. That said, that's a wow.

I know, but they were, of course, going in the right direction when used for races. This is my commuter, and my commute is pretty mellow as the highest speed limit is 30mph. So, not much load there.
