Handlebar question ...

Hi all, just a quick question. I have a 535 Virago, which currently has drag bars in it. I'm looking to change the bars to more of an apehanger type of thing, as in the pic below (bike at the back).
Is it just a simple case of removing the top half of the clamp, then changing the bars, controls etc. over? Or is there something that I'm completely overlooking?
Thanks for any help and advice

You will need longer cables and hoses to reach the controls in thier new location. And you will need to measure and find them yourself, as most shops will have no idea how much longer your new ones will need to be.

Gotta love ape hangers. I have no idea what purpose they serve, but they sure look cool. I can only imagine they make a bike harder to control, but I could be totally wrong.

Actually they act like hi rise drag bars . They allow me to sit upright which is far easier on my old bad back . Control is not a problem under power . A little touchy when moving it by foot power alone tho.......lol sorta like wrestling a fat girl .
