I'm moving...

The wife & I have decided to relocate to Airdrie, AB...that's where we were prior to Sylvan Lake and is also where my wife's sister lives, so while I'm away working she will have some support and my kids will have their cousins close by...plus, I will be closer to the mountains & twisties!

I think it's a win-win...

Now, how do we tell the teen daughter? :x

Later.

I'd let her live in denial until the day of the move.

Hey, that's exciting! Airdrie is pretty nice too, and it's an easy ride east or west from there. (although North and South on Hwy 2 is the no-brainer route..haha). Not sure if you are really closer to the mountains (they are further from Edmonton than Calgary) but you are so close anyways an extra 5 mins won't break the bank! lol.

Airdrie is about 1-1.5 hour north of Calgary so she could still keep contact with her friends, but new friends also await her. Maybe you could sell her on all the new cool stuff in Airdrie and all the new friends she could meet there?

Mike - I don't know how fast you take hwy #2 but Airdrie is practically on the doorstep of Calgary now that we are out north of CrossIron Mills. 10 minutes max!

Luck with the move.

I never could handle the teenager thing well.

Yup...we're only moving 1h20min south, so visits will happen. She took it well, and only cried a little...but a friend of mine recently moved to Airdrie and his daughter is less than a year younger, so that helps.

Since I work out of town, my wife wants to be closer to her sister who lives in Airdrie...so cousins will be nearby as well, also helpful in selling the idea to my girls...now to sell the house and find the new one (lots of bathrooms required!!)

Later.

Might be for now but it essentially feels like in the city and I would not doubt that the limits will be moving there soon. Still, Airdrie is only 10 minutes out of city at this point. Now there is no reason why Madjak30 and I can't get together for a ride this summer :righton:
