Hey, Hows it going? total newb here, but got a issue, maybe more metal than anything else but gota get it treated. I recently bought a 07 Suzuki Boulevard c50, totally love it. Had a bud come with me to help me check it out. He said it was a really nice bike, I asked him what he really thought, told me "Id tell ya to walk away if it wasn't. So I bought it. last week were having a beer an talking exhaust, actually he's talking exhaust, im listening. My pipes are two in to one, seems preeeeety loud, cool, I like loud. Now my bud decideds to tell about how my bike sounds to him, as he a far more experience d rider than me, said my bike sounds gay. I really couldn't believe my ears, I got pissed, he apologized an said that's not what he ment but the only word that came out. We smoothed it over no problem. But now that word is stuck in my head every time im on it. So now Im considering changing exhaust. The tailpipe can be taken off so it exposes the two pipes. what can I do to make it more......... mean I guese with out breaking the bank. I can get over the comment but that was such a terrible way to describe the sound of onothers bike cause it really stuck mentally any help would be great with out going to a therapist. LOL! IMO the only "gay" pipes are the straight pipes. All they do is make me want to run them off of the road.

Advantages of a quieter exhaust:
-Get on it without alerting every cops in a 2 mile radius
-You have backpressure. Backpressure = torque = much more street friendly
-You won't deafen everybody who is stuck next to you
-You don't appear to be overcompensating (sexual or lack of performance)

I would like something a little louder than my stock exhaust, but to be honest my stock one is fine. Most bikes tickle the EPA limit of 80 dB with the stock exhaust at 5K RPM and go louder past that. Keep in mind that OSHA requires hearing protection past 80 dB for more than 8 hours a day.

Yea I hear ya, I know its just phycological, I think he coulda used any other word besides gay, ya know. I appreciate your feed back, it dose sound fine to me an that's what counts. This is anything but quiet, its frickin loud, wife has to ride on the left side or in front. 2 into 1 gets loud.
