Surprise answer from Wifey...

Had a surprising conversation with the wifey today...
I asked if she would like to go look at new bikes when I get home in two weeks, she didn't really answer but said we couldn't afford one right now. This I know, but I want her to sit on a few to see what type of bike she feels comfortable on...so I told her this, then asked if she would be interested in going for a short ride on the bike. She answered "maybe"...this is HUGE!!
The standard answer was a very quick NO...but now it's a slow, maybe...I'm thinking she may just like the idea, but not on my current bike...so the bike shopping thing with her in mind has her thinking about it.
Bikes are fun, no matter what they are...but if I could get her into going on some road trips with me, that would be excellent!
Anyway, just thought I would share my news/development/excitement!
Later.

That is AWESOME! Sounds like when Mike was trying to get me involved with biking, and look at me now.

Your wife might just be heading down a good path...

I'm hoping so...this is partially why I wanted to get into biking, for the getaway factor...but since she doesn't ride with me, that has been a flop so I'm hoping this seed gets planted and grows to full bloom

It's well worth the effort. Getting away with your wife on a bike trip is an awesome thing!

The best holidays, we have had were when a bike was in the mix, or as things progressed, 2 bikes. There is just a totally different mindset to getting away on a bike. My best are the non planned ones where we just ride as much or as little as we want and then stop where we want.

Thanks for the support guys...I'm hoping she sees it the same. Gotta get her on a bike first...baby steps!
Once that happens...try her on the daughters 50cc scooter...then her own...
I'll keep you posted!
Anyone else have trouble getting their significan other onto their bike, or into riding? Andrea, how did Mike finally convince you to ride?

Nope...has alway told me not to even bother asking, that's why I have the bike I've got. If she had expressed any interest at all, I would have bought a more pillion friendly bike...but I asked and got a "maybe" out of her, so I'm hopeful

My wife doesn't ride and I don't quilt. Works for us, we've been married over 61 years so far.

Bbbaawwwaahhh Jack, you funny man.
@madjak, it was only after many years of not being on a bike that my wife started to pillion again, that is what sparked her interest in getting her own bike. I have learned so many things about Lady riders through the process. They are not like us, they don't think like us, they have different objectives and goals and their sense of self preservation is so much stronger than ours.
The Goose's journey started on a 125 scooter, then a 250 scooter, then a CBX 250 Honda. Once she had that nailed down she jumped to a VFR 800 and is now on a Honda 600 RR. Further to that she has no problem jumping on just about any bike including both my 12's.
The bike she dislikes the most now is the 250 scooter.
Go figure, oops sorry you can't. They is female
