How long do you keep a bike?

I realized with some surprise that I'm only a few weeks shy of having my 2005 Triumph Bonneville for 8 years. Since then other bikes have come and gone in our household (seemingly more come than go, though). The Bonne soldiers on, and I have no plan to get rid of it any time soon.
How about you guys & gals? How long do you keep a motorcycle? I suspect answers will be all over the map.... but lets see!

Well the bikes in my sig are the ones that I still have. I bought all of them new except for the 900SS. So the bike I had the longest would be the R1150R and I bought that 10/1/2001.

Bought my first bike and held onto it for 6 months before having to let it go to make ends meet. So far I'm at 1 year and 6 months on my second bike.

I have Fickle Bike Syndrome. I don't think I've had a bike longer than 2 years...my Bonneville may be the exception...

I've kept a bike as long as 18 years and as short as 3 months.

11 years was the longest (VTR1000) and 1 year was the shortest (Ducati Sport Classic). Those measures were a perfect reflection of how enjoyable the bikes were to own.
Outside of that I usually have a few bikes in the garage and also suffer from fickle bike syndrome.....and there are worse things in life than that!

I've only owned two bikes, the first for two years, and the next (and current) one for five and counting.

25 years for the current one. And I don't see anything I'd rather have on the market.
