I have an issue with my 2008 GS500F. it is new to me, and just noticed the left indicators (both front and back) is going way faster than the right pair. I s this bad wiring or bulbs or flasher unit. I know on past experience cars it is common. but i don't know what there is in my bike. I have no user manual. Help needed

Welcome to TMW. :)

We also have a garage forum for trouble shooting. Try posting in there, too.

Did you check the blinker relay?

The exact same thing happened to me a few months ago (and coincidentally, it also involved the left indicators). Took the relay to a cellphone repair shop. Had them heat up the solders on the relay in case there was a bad connection. The blinkers worked fine once I popped the relay back on the bike. Cost me about $5 to fix.

also just make sure someone didn't put an led bulb in one side without a resistor the led will cause the blinkers to go quickly. Ask me how I know

Thanks guys! I have not had my bike since Friday.... my son has it, and dropped it  scrapes on fairing and frame. Went down left side. He is ok just grazed knee.... thank God. Teach him to give more space to car in front. I am hoping to get a ride in soon.

Is he licensed?

Will he pay for damage?

Maybe the lights will work better now?

Can some one tell me if a GS500F bike in 2004 had a round headlight and no fairings? there is a bike for sale 2004 the ownership here in Ontario has it listed as an F and it has no fairing and a round headlight. I know they changed in 2004 and 2005 north america had only ones with the fairing

All GS500 sold after 2002 in US were fully faired GS500F models and I believe CA was same. The GSF are easily converted to naked bikes and many have done so. The F models had an oil cooler and the naked models sold elsewhere after 02 did not. If the 04 your looking at has an oil cooler it's a converted F model. Most put on a round light when converting but some have retained the F model headlights.
