In Las Vegas, Cody Webb kicked off Round 1 of the Geico EnduroCross series by winning the Main Event over Colton Haaker and Taddy Blazusiak on a technical and challenging track. Webb comments, "This was exactly how I wanted to start off the season. My Beta USA prepped 300RR performed flawlessly all night. I had maximum confidence in the nasty rock turn that my bike would hook up perfect every lap." Webb won the Main Event by roughly 20 seconds; a statement of his ability to win the 2014 championship. Webb goes on to say, "It's an awesome feeling to head into round 2 of X Games in Austin with the red plate. This is a huge step in the right direction with myself and the Beta team for the rest of the 2014 season."

Max Gerston laid down strong lap times throughout practice and the heats but unfortunately didn't make the Main Event. Gerston reflects, "All the hype of the opening round of EnduroCross lived up to the excitement for me. My Beta 350RR was working great along with my fitness, but some bad line choices kept me from putting it into the main. Tough break but it's only the beginning of what will be a great season."

Leading up the Amateur effort was Ty Cullins aboard his Beta 250RR. After winning his heat race, Ty lined up for the main and quickly made his way to the front. The most difficult obstacle was the rocks according to Cullins but he says, "I got a pretty good start and got into the lead through the rocks on the first lap and just made as few mistakes as possible. I was able to get my first amateur class win." Cullins took the Amateur Main Event win and looks to taste victory again at Round 2 of EnduroCross in Sacramento, California.
After EnduroCross, Saturday marked Round 6 of the Hare and Hound Series in Utah. The Beta/Purvines Race Team headed out to the Little Sahara Sand dunes in hopes of maintaining their points lead. Nick Burson started the race off strong but quickly found himself on the ground after casing a sand dune. Despite a rough crash, Burson pulled his way back into podium position. With a 6 point lead after this weekend's third place finish, Burson says, "All in all it was a good day. I remained on the podium where I want to be and made up valuable points that could have been lost with a bad race."

Fellow Beta/Purvines racers, TJ Hannifin and Axel Pearson, rode their Betas to 4th and 11th overall finishes, respectively. This put three Betas in the top 15 overall. The Hare and Hound series resumes on May 17 in Nevada.
