I just bought a new battery for my brother's bike (2001 ZX-6). We just put it in but the bike still isn't starting. Lights and everything work, but when the ignition is pressed the bike makes clicking sounds and the lights dim (I guess the battery is being drained). It's not even cranking.
Any ideas on what it could be?
Thanks in advance.

Check your connections and put the new battery on a charger to fully charge it. Then see how it goes.

Correct.
What does your first sentence mean?

Here in N.A. we don't use the term 'earth' in electrical context. We call it 'ground'.... but only because it's the right term.

You lot are easily confused, so I am sure there is a reason for the term...
