Honda Shadow 1100t gas leak

I have a weird issue. When I crank the bike, I notice gas coming from the bottom of the right exhaust pipe. Looking at the bottom of the pipe, I notice a small perfectly round hole where the gas appears to be coming from. there are other area that appear to be the same size, but they are welded over. Is it normal for some gas to come into the exhaust pipe, and should that hole be covered or left open. thks for the help

Is it gas or just condensation in the exhaust, that's what the hole is for...
