cleaning a defroster style helmet visor

Due to recent unforseen circumstances (me forgetting my Shoei was sitting on the ground behind the truck
), I've had to start using my snowmobile helmet as my bike helmet. Problem is that it has the electric defront visor option, I have no clue where I put the owner's manual, and I never used this one enough to get it dirty enough to clean before.
It's now got bugs and road gunk smeared on it, and I'm not sure how to clean it. Is standard every day Windex type stuff OK to use on it? How about RainX'ing it? I'm not so much worried about doing anything to the defrost grid, as it's highly unlikely that it's going to see any duty as a sled helmet again. What I am worried about is doing something like clouding up the plastic visor, making it totally unusable.
