Hi all,
New to the Forum hoping Y'all can help me out with my problem

My 1984 Honda CB650 Nighthawk is making a strange GURGLING noise when I crank her.

Does not fire up , a little bit of backfire.

The GURGLING noise seems to be coming from the air filter area, so I removed that seems to have a little gas in the compartment its so Strange I've never heard of anything like this before.

I checked the plugs for a spark and I'm getting one from 1 & 4 but not from 2 & 3 possibly loose wires seen as 1 & 4 go to separate coils , I've checked plugs and they're fine.

Checked the carb bowls the gas looked a little nasty so cleaned them out, not the needles or jets just the bowls ,and put fresh gas in the tank

The bike as been undercover for about 3 or 4 months she was fine and firing when I parked her..

Any HELP would be much appreciated

Thanks

I think you're on the right track with fuel.
Draining the bowls was good. Fresh gas is good - did you EMPTY the tank, including Reserve, when you swapped fuel?
If not, there might be more water in the tank going to the carbs.

Could also be some corrosion on connectors from sitting & possibly getting condensation. Disconnecting then reconnecting them is enough.

I put fresh gas in the tank and emptied out the reserve

I have no idea what this GURGLING noise is ....

Anyone had this noise happen to their Bike when cranking it ?????

I will have a little time this weekend to tinker but would greatly appreciate any HELP if anyone as experienced this problem.

Thanks
And ride safely, its a jungle out there

Probably a stuck float allowing fuel to fill the cylinder. Check the oil, if it's way overfilled and smells like gas, there's your problem.
