Ceemes and Hyperr were suggesting classic ride (1954 Vincent Black Shadow HRD 998) in the suggestion box for the Cool Wall this week. While I don't have the 1954 Vincent Black Shadow HRD 998 in our Motorcycle Guides, I thought I'd put up the next best modern thing... a Norton Commando!

I went with awesome. This bike looks like the perfect balance of old and new.....love the look of the engine, the nakedness, the twin rear shocks, totally retro, yet with enough of the modern cons. The price however....oh lordy.....she will be on my unattainium list for a long time, unless I win the lotto.

That is a nice looking bike but for that money you're into a nice BMW. After freight and PDI you're talking close to $30,000. Ouch.
Is that gold plate I see on the shocks? That's twice what the Zero was going for and THAT was an expensive bike...

Not my cup o' tea, Mum.

It is hard to say Awesome with that price, but I really, realy like the look. I guess I will still say Awesome, but I wouldn't buy one even if I had the money (unless like ceemes said I won the lottery).

Nice bike but like others have said - there is no way that it justifies the price given the performance available. I am not sure if this is the limited edition "Dominator" model but if it is apparently they are ALL sold out so someone out there thinks it is worth the money....

Yeah at this price and performance, I would rather have a nicely restored '74 850 Commando. I suppose I could get a really nice one for that kind of coin! :kicking:

Sweet baby Jesus in a handbasket, this bike is awesome! (Anyway, it's the Cool Wall, not the great-value-for-money wall).
