perormance tips for a honda nighthawk 750 can anyone help?

I just bought a 1995 honda nighthawk 750 and I was wondering if anyone had any performance tips that would make this bike a little quicker, it is my first bike so I don't know a real lot about them. It has 14000 miles on it and is in mint condition the guy took real good care of it, I would just like a little better acceleration, other than the the bike runs great. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Easiest route to better acceleration is a new rear sprocket. You'll sacrifice some on the top end, but it's the easiest way to go and doesn't involve engine mods.

I think there may be something wrong with the bike. I can't imagine a CB750 feeling slow, especially as a first bike.
I'd have an expereinced rider try it out a see what they think.

Change the sprockets like zoo mentioned and then be done with it.
You have a pristine bike, no need to screw it up with trying to put performance mods on it - It'll just kill your resale value.
Just ride the thing until you feel you are ready to move up and get yourself something faster ... That will be alot easier to do if you've taken care of the bike and kept it pristine, instead of messing with aftemarket stuff to make perform better.
Unless ... you take it to a speed shop and have it done professionally.

Did you check out
Check out the modification page and the Tim Hodge mod and the carb needle washer mod. I haven't done them (and won't) but many people have done them and have been happy with the results.
The mods are Free and will move the power band a little lower. Read about it on the site.
The NH750 is fast enough to hurt you.
It is reasonable good handling, low maintenance and easy to ride. I wouldn't try to ruin it too much. With gas going up, I'd try to keep the 40-50 MPG you get with it. Many mods lower your reliability and gas mileage. Not worth it to me as the reliability especially is what I like most about this bike.

The bike will get up and go it feels like it could be more, id guess its primarily the weight of the bike though. This is my first bike and it pulls pretty strong and seems to be running correctly, its got 31000 miles so im willing to bet it could use tuning in carbs.
