@TRIUMPH #RIDERS SEEK REDEMPTION DURING SEASON’S SECOND VISIT TO THE #SPRINGFIELD MILE
ATLANTA (September 4, 2015) – The Latus Motors Racing and Bonneville Performance teams head back to the legendary Springfield Mile, at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, for the eleventh round of the AMA Pro Flat Track series this Sunday, September 6. Both Triumph riders will be racing hard to better their earlier finishes (14th and 17th place) in the GNC1 Main from the May stop in Springfield, Ill
Brandon Robinson, piloting the #44 Latus Motors Racing / Castrol / Triumph Bonneville, came home in fourth place at last weekend’s Don Tilley’s Memorial Charlotte Half-Mile GNC1 race. The result moved him up to fifth in the point standings with four races remaining. Jake Shoemaker, rider of the #55 Bonneville Performance / Castrol / Triumph Bonneville, continues to work hard at fine-tuning his bike. The mile tracks have been more favorable to Shoemaker this season, so he’ll be looking to climb up from 16th position in the championship.
“Last weekend was awesome! It was great to finally have a good run on a half-mile where we have been struggling,” said Brandon Robinson. “This weekend we’re back on the mile track where we have been a threat all year. I’m pretty excited to get to Springfield again and contend for the win.”
As part of its outreach initiative, VETMotorsports will embed Sgt. Edward S., of Columbus, Ohio, and Sgt. Matt K., of Springfield, Ill., with the Bonneville Performance team. Through Castrol’s VETMotorsports Performance Match Fund, the on-track performance of Triumph teams in both Flat Track and MotoAmerica competition has earned VETMotorsports $8,175 in bonuses thus far this season.
