Run's but needs a battery charger with 200 amp ?

My son toke a job in to help fixes his friends bike it started on one to two kicks but need a lot of work now the bike looks great but won't start unless he put's the shop charger on he has tried using reg 12volt but they won't start the bike not enough amp.??? Every thing has been checked and we checked but still no go has any one ever had this problem before ?

Yes someone has had this problem before. (I say this without knowing what the problem is.)
What kind of bike?
Did it work previously? What did they do to it?
Is the kill switch in the Run position?
How many amps will the shop charger supply?
Does it have fuel? Is the petcock turned on? Choke?
Does it sound like the motor might run or is it totally dead?
Are the battery connections clean, bright, and tight?
Is the battery dead and they are trying to run it off the shop charger?
Does this bike have a battery?
is this a two-stroke motor? If so- Is the fuel fresh? Is the mixed fuel done in correct proportion? Are you sure?
Is the spark plug clean?
Does the spark plug spark when it's laying on the cylinder head and the engine is kicked over?
Can you describe the problem in detail?

It's a 650 triumph and everything has been checked and we checked it will not start with a battery at all
The boys took the ground of to day to check them and now she won't start with the shop charger

I've been in the position where I've checked everything and it still wouldn't work. Consulting with my father usually revealed that I'd NOT checked everything because he could think of things I hadn't done yet.
If the boys took the ground connection off - off of what?? Why?
What are they attaching the charger clips to?
Is the battery any good? Voltage? Will it light the bike lights?
Are they trying to use the charger to make up for a bad battery?
Could the battery cables on the bike be corroded inside their insulation? (happens quite a lot on cars - cable cover looks good but inside the wire has been rotted by acid and corrosion)
It is a very bad idea to run the bike off just the charger. The battery serves as an electrical filter to absorb and smooth the voltage from the charger. Some chargers will have excessively high voltage this way and can hurt the ignition electronics.
It would be better to find a way to jumper from a known good auto battery to the bike rather than run off the charger.

I've ordered a new regulator and electronic ignition when it get here if it is post ground I'll change the wiring back that's about all I can do at this point as I never seen what the kids did to the wiring !!! Thanks
