Bike selection

I have a certain list of criteria i use when selecting a bike.

1) The looks have to get my heart beating a bit faster
2) I have to be able to flat foot it
3) I like low weight so it has to be the lightest i can find to do the job I want it to do.
4) It has to have a good quality track record
5)Comfortable riding positon (keeping in mind i can always make that better with different handle bars and seat)

These 5 things have served me well in my selection of motorcycles. When i ever step outside of these 5 requirements the relationship with the bike is never a lasting one.

Well, number 3 (Low weight) is the only thing I would say is really up for debate. I live in a high wind, straight road kinda area. More weight is better, fairnings are not for the faint of heart.

For a novice rider lower weight is more managable overall. areodynamics is a whole nother debate. :)
