#Yamaha Junior Racing will take across a strong contingent of riders to contest the 2015 Australian Junior Motocross Championship, in Bunbury, WA, starting later the week.
11 riders across five states as well as supporting a New Zealand based rider, Yamaha Junior Racing will have a huge presence at the high profile event and are out to make each post a winner.
Yamaha Junior Racing has had one of its strongest season's to date with the riders and teams dominating state based events so far in 2015 but the deep sandy conditions of Western Australia will be a serious test for the young guns of Australian Motocross but one they are all looking forward to.
Leading the charge in the 15 years division will be Hunter Lawrence while New South Wales YJR will be represented by Brendon Walther. Lawrence has had an outstanding season in 2015, winning all before him and also taking third in the World Junior 125cc championships held in Spain recently. Walther also carries a 2015 state championship with him to WA and will be out to impress in his final outing as a junior racer.
New Zealand's Wyatt Chase will also make his presence felt and the kiwi is back in Australia after learning the ropes at the 2014 event.
WA resident, Matt Fabry, will be looking to cash in on his local knowledge of the Bunbury Circuit and the specialist sand riding it takes to race well in the 13-14years group but will face stiff competition from Victoria's Cody Dyce as he shapes as the man to beat. Dyce has been in red hot form this season, winning both the Victorian 125 and 250cc state championships. Joining him will be South Australia's Thomas Larwood and WA's Kai Stephen.
The 85cc classes will also boost strong Yamaha representation with Liam Andrews and Sam Stephen in the 12-14 years group while three riders will be in the 9-11 years division with Alex Larwood, Taj Gow Smith and Levi Rogers will be out to fly the Yamaha flag.
On hand assisting the riders will be Yamaha's motocross coaches (Y-AIM) of Shane Melcalfe, Shane Booth and Cameron Taylor who take each rider through the event and ensure the best possible results are achieved.
"It is a huge undertaking by the riders and families to compete in this event and we wish them all the best of luck," says Yamaha's Ray Howard. "The success of the YJR program this year has been remarkable and it would be a great way to cap off the year with some national success in Bunbury," Howard ends.
The event gets underway at the Bunbury circuit on September 27 and runs the entire week finishing on October 3. A series of heats and qualifying events to start the week before things get serious in the later stages with the finals taking place.
