Hooked up a Battery Tender system to my bike and I was wondering if it is possible or advisable to use the connection from the battery as a power source for other things, such as aux. power for a cam or gps system while riding?

It is possible. but you have to hook it up correctly or you let the smoke out.

Put a fuse in the line. That's how you let the smoke out in a less damaging way if the smoke needs to get out.

There is a 25 Amp fuse from the positive terminal connector line. Fairly simple set-up. Unscrew the battery lead and rescrew them back on with the tender lead on top....the connector pokes up between the gas tank and the front of the saddle.....will take some pics later.

You need a smaller fuse, more appropriate to your GPS. I would leave the 25 amp in place but add another fuse that will work for GPS but unplug for battery tender use. I plan to do this on my bike but believe my battery tender hook up doesn't have a fuse.
