If you were given the motorcycle with all expenses paid to try any motorcycle racing sport what type of racing would you try for an hour?

I think I would try Motorcycle Drag Racing for an hour. I love the feel of acceleration and doing the 1/4 mile would be something neat. I don't think I would do that great, but that's not the point it would be fun. :D

moto gp baby, I would kill fo the opportunity to ride a bike designed for the sole purpose of speed, and aggressiveness, that costs more than most peoples houses.

I think drag racing will get a lot of votes for 2 good reasons.

1. Acceleration in general is a lot of what riding a bike is about and
2. Most of us realize that our second choice (GP) would be just asking for trouble and would probably just give us more time lying on our back next to the bike in the gravel thinking about how nice drag racing would be.....

Yup, drag racing for me, too - I have to try something with NO2 some day!

I've already got more than an hour in with at least 4 of the types on the list..... So I'm gonna go with Moto GP. I know that's one disipline I will never get a chance to try in reality.

If I have a couple years to learn the Isle of Man course FIRST, then I would like an hour around that wicked road circuit! :-) and to add to the fun I'll take a TZ250, or maybe something just a tad slower, like a TZ125.

:D

Some rally stuff like Paris Dakar would be real fun... but again, no good without a lot of time to acclimate oneself to the situation.

I guess with my background it would be easier to choose MotoGP -- again not to get too crazy, I'd opt for the 250 class, because I would have a lot more fun on a bike that is slower and I am sure the current 250s are WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY (hang on, WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY) hotter and even easier to ride than the ol '85RS250 I raced a couple times (podium finishes against local boys, with almost zero seat time), and i remember how awesome turn one was :-) oooooohhh man that bike put me in nirvana blitzing into one, last on the brakes and into the lead after a hideous launch, and that was the race i finished second in). Would've taken YEARS to learn how to ride that bike properly. totally cool, and that RS was already an *old* GP bike when I rode it in the '90s. Power was not so great, but the chassis was amazing. Funny enough the brakes faded! that was a real bummer i did not expect. But it appeared to have had a hard life, and was maintained by a local Scotsman who loved the "real" race bikes... he was the President of the local race club. Just my luck to have a chance to ride it. fun. made my FZR400 feel slow in handling :-) sooo cool.

Since Race City is right here in town, you have the opportunity Mike. They have open drag nights, for cars and bikes... minimal cost, basic prep, and the right gear. You can ride any bike. Just you and the clock.

Rather than drag racing, the fun thing about roadracing at Race City, is the first lap LAUNCH down the 5/8th mile straight, with a bunch of other guys (er, riders, as there are a few girls racing some years), and into turn one, fourth gear (or third depending upon bike and preference) into a sweeping left ... swooooosh... tons of fun... and then turn2,3,4,5.6....... :D
