changing brake pads

ok so i went to change my rear brake pads out last night, but didnt get that far. theres 2 pins holding the pads in and i cannot find a way to get them out. they are seriously in there. the brakes are on the right side of the bike, and are supposed to come out the right side(according to shop manual). however to reach the pins you need to go through the sprocket and tire, im not sure what i should use to bang them through with that will reach that far and be small enough to fit in the pin holes. id like to spray something in there(liquid wrench) to loosen them but not sure if thats a good idea when working so close with my brakes.

does anyone have suggestions for banging out these pins without having to pull the whole brake assemble off the bike?

I haven't checked the forum in a while. Did you get the pins out?

Removed the cotter pins? Seems silly but sometimes they're overlooked or hard to see. Vice grips clamped on and wiggled works sometimes. It also sounds as if your rear brake got real hot too.

ya ya got them out no problem. once i realized i could use vice grips between the pads to pull the pins out it was fine. however i ran into another problem. i couldnt get the left(tire side) piston to push back in to make room for the new pads. i ended up having to pull the caliper off and got the piston to eventually move, i think the piston was pushed all the way out and managed to get cocked a bit so i couldnt push it back in. once i got the caliper off i was able to push it even to straighten it out and it pushed back in nice and smooth. then got the pads in no problem(with shims, springs, ect all good to go). But i decided to hold off on bleeding the brakes till i get some speed bleeders, should have them in a day or so to see if my brakes work now lol.
