i have had this bike for two years without any problems. the other day it died on me as if it was out of gas, except it had plenty. i had to push it home.
i have never worked on a bike before, and i just ordered the manual. what i have done so far is : checked plugs- dirty but sparking, checked air filter- a little dirty but not the problem.
i think it might be a fuel problem, but i don't really know what steps to take next. carbeurators? lines?

First check to make sure that the vacuum line to the petcock is still connected (both at the petcock and at the carb) (If indeed the radian has a vac petcock)

Yessir, the Radian has a vacuum petcock.

To the original poster: does it fire up now? Or does it still just crank and not catch? The Radian's gas tank cap is notorious for not venting properly, which creates low pressure in the tank, keeping fuel from flowing into your carbs. So if it starts now, that might be your problem.

Also, check out this Yahoo group for Radians, it has a bunch of great, helpful people on it: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/radian/messages

Also, Derek from moto-lab.com posts there. He runs his own custom motorcycle shop down in and has a Radian himself. He will cut you a good deal on parts and is an all-round great guy.

no it doesn't fire. i got it to fire for a second by putting a little gas into the cylinders so i think i confirmed a gas flow problem right?

Sounds pretty probable, yes. I would pull the tank up and make sure fuel is flowing when the petcock is set to prime. You do have an inline fuel filter, right? If not, get one, they are well worth the $2.00 of insurance.

I would check for kinked hoses and verify the vacuum line is connected to the petcock if it flows on prime and with the tank up.
