King of #Motos
The #Beta #USA Factory team of Kyle Redmond, Max Gerston, and Morgan Tanke took on the 5th annual King of Moto's held in Johnson Valley, California. Promoter and former Dakar racer Jimmy Lewis warned the riders the event would be tougher than last year however the event ended up being about the same technically speaking however mother nature and her relentless winds threw a mix into the Extreme Enduro's hat making conditions unpredictable.
Kyle Redmond didn't do much riding the last two weeks leading up to the event due to a badly injured arm during the first round of the National Hare Scrambles championship. After a decent start aboard his 300 RR, Redmond stayed with the leaders in the beginning eventually settling into 5th at the finish.

Teammate Max Gerston also rode the favored two stroke and unlike Redmond, had a horrible start getting trapped behind some fallen amateur riders. Gerston worked his way up just a few minutes behind his teammate in 6th place at the finish.
Max Gerston- "All and all I had a fun at KOM. A horrible start, getting taken out by Amateurs and breaking my GPS, was extremely difficult to come back from. I tried hard and pushed to catch up to the lead pack but a 10 minute downfall was hard to come back from. I ended up with a solid 6th place finish on my 300 RR. I tried to come through facing adversity but it wasn't enough to break into the top 5. My bike was working fantastic and proved itself as a solid hard Enduro bike once again. I had fun and look forward to next year."

Morgan Tank had a race she would rather forget as the young rider twisted her ankle badly and had to retire early. The MRI's revealed no broken bones so she will be back on the bike soon.
Endurocross up-and-comer Ty Cullins had a last-minute invite to compete in the team class aboard his Beta Evo 300 and ended up winning the class with his teammate Michael Salsman.

On the support front, Beta USA and Sportsman Cycle racer Justin Wallis finished in fourth at Round 2 of the WORCS championship in the Pro class. Wallis raced his Gary Smith-tuned 430 RR to a hard fought 4th place just missing out on the podium spot by seconds.
