Team KAGAYAMA SUZUKI Asia riders Noriyuki Haga and Patis Chooprathet improved their lap-times and finishing positions in Sunday’s second race of the Asia Road Race Championship at Suzuka Circuit in Japan, but ultimately found it a tough weekend overall.
Haga, riding the #41 Suzuki GSX-R600, started from the 16th on the grid in Saturday’s damp opening race and finished 12th, while Chooprathet (#98), starting from 24th, finished 21st.
In the 17-lap ARRC Supersport 600 second race, both riders recorded good starts with Haga positioning himself at the back of the second group; and in the final stages, moved himself up, taking the chequered flag in eighth position. Chooprathet rode a similar race, upping his pace in the final laps, to finish 17th.
