YOSHIMURA SUZUKI STRONG AT MUDDY CREEK MX

Team Suzuki Press Office – June 28.

Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing was back to full capacity with two riders this weekend at a hot and humid Muddy Creek Raceway in Blountville, Tennessee, round five of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship that was viewed by a large crowd and also by a national television audience on NBC.

Blake Baggett was strong in his return to the series after a month off due to an injury sustained at the beginning of the season. Baggett raced his @Yoshimura $Suzuki #RM-Z450 to an 8-7 for eighth overall; his best result of the season.

Matt Bisceglia’s term as a substitute rider for the Yoshimura Suzuki was extended to a third weekend as James Stewart stayed home in Florida with his expecting wife. Bisceglia went 14-12 to finish 12th overall.

In his return to competition, Baggett began the weekend at Muddy Creek by qualifying ninth with a time of 2:01.640. Bisceglia was 12th on the timing charts with a 2:02.083.

In moto one neither Baggett or Bisceglia got especially great starts, in fact Bisceglia was near the very back of the pack after a crash in the first corner. In spite of sub-par starts, both Yoshimura Suzuki riders made serious progress through the field using the precise handling of their Suzuki RM-Z450s – Baggett going from 15th out of the gate to eighth and Bisceglia an amazing charge from 37th to 14th.

In the second moto both riders got top-10 starts out of the gate and used that to their advantage by each scoring better results - Baggett seventh and Bisceglia 12th.
