To stand out. Always...
The Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 is equipped with the best braking technology currently available. The front brakes feature 4-piston radial calipers, state-of-the-art for the motard market. The light weight, 320 mm wave discs ensure shorter than ever stopping distances. The bikes aggressive stopping power is emphasized by the mean look of the braking system, in keeping with the Dorsoduros overall styling.
The rear brakes incorporate another wave disc, 240 mm in diameter this time, plus a single piston caliper. Both the front and rear brakes are fitted with aeronautical type metal braided brake lines to eliminate the sponginess associated with conventional rubber hoses and to deliver maximum braking precision.
A sophisticated two channel Continental ABS system provides maximum active safety on the Dorsoduro 750. The ABS controller is specially calibrated to make full use of the Dorsoduros impressive braking power and tire grip on dry surfaces. Riders can therefore still enjoy this amazing fun bike to the full.
Developed in close collaboration with Aprilia Racing, Dorsoduro 750 ABS was designed by taking the best features of sports bikes and supermotards, producing a perfect combination of performance, technology and fun. Power, lightness and agility, but also directionality, responsiveness and steering precision are therefore its main characteristics. Aprilia Dorsoduro ABS has components, technical features and finish of the highest quality which contribute to the uniqueness of the project. For the entire Dorsoduro 750 range, as the Shiver 750 range and the automatic Mana 850 from Aprilia, 35 kW powered-down versions are also available, in compliance with the criteria of the new A2 license.
A UNIQUE MOTORCYCLE WITH AN UNMISTAKABLE CHARACTER, DEVELOPED FROM APRILIA'S RACING EXPERIENCE WITH A SINGLE-MINDED GOAL: TO OFFER TOTAL RIDER ENJOYMENT. 92 HORSEPOWER AND EXCLUSIVE TRI MAP RIDE BY WIRE TECHNOLOGY IN A LIGHTWEIGHT, HIGH PERFORMANCE BIKE CREATED TO COMPLEMENT THE SKILLS OF EVEN THE MOST DARING RIDERS AND ALSO AVAILABLE WITH ABS.
APRILIA DORSODURO 750
Developed in collaboration with the Aprilia Racing Division - which has thirty-seven world championships under its belt - Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 has been created by fusing the best characteristics of a sports bike with the best that a racing super-motard has to offer. The result is the concentrated essence of performance and technology, a genuinely special, extreme and elite bike that can make any rider feel like a pro.
Light, agile and powerful, Dorsoduro 750 is powered by a latest generation engine and boasts the most advanced technology in its class. Through the use of state of art electronic engine management, Aprilia's compact 90° V-twin delivers blistering performance unmatched by any of its rivals, with an incredible specific power output of 122.6 hp/litre and a maximum torque of 82 Nm at just 4500 rpm.
True to Aprilia tradition, the chassis architecture is unparalleled in its class. After the acclaimed debut of the mixed trellis/aluminium frame on the ultra-specialised SXV, the application of the layout in the Dorsoduro establishes it a hallmark feature of Aprilia motards, offering levels of directional agility, reactivity and steering precision far beyond the reach of any rival.
The essentially designed Aprilia Dorsoduro boasts only the best in terms of componentry, technical specifications and finish. Four-piston radial callipers, wave discs, a hydraulic wet clutch, adjustable suspension front and rear, "Tri-Map" ride by wire and the Matrix instrument panel with on board computer all contribute to making the Dorsoduro a truly unique product.

We are speechless before this model it seems. I was too but have concluded it is at least cool. Mostly looking to ride two-up I am not interested in owning one, but I would certainly take this out for a spin. Or to the track.
Well done Mike for stumping your audience once again!

I really like these supermoto-styled naked bikes. You get good visibility because of the high motocross seat design, minimal bodywork, light weight, great power-to-weight ratios, and they tend to be relatively slim. Good suspension travel tends to smooth out bad roads too. They make great urban/commuting bikes. Tiny tanks and uncomfortable seats are, unfortunately, also the norm though.
As for the Dorso specifically, based on that rear end alone, it should get an awesome vote.

I do love putting up models that make a rider think outside the box. It's easy to slap an "awesome" on a popular model, but something that is different, unique and not seen very much, it can be a head-scratcher.

Re: This Week: 2016 Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 ABS - VOTE NOW
I love it. Voted: Awesome.
It's like a Ducati or a KTM but at an affordable price AND you get a prestigious brand name as well! Plus, look at what Piaggio is offering up the motorcycling community, USA and Canadian prices that are almost identical! For either group, the MSRP is a bloody-bargain for what you get, hands down.
The bike itself, wow. V2 engine, 92hp, lightweight 409lbs, awesome looks, dual-fighter jet tail exhaust... wow. Awesome+
Yes, I do agree 101% with Grey Thumper there, the 12l size, that's a little small. Might get 100-120 miles out it before hitting reserve. Which isn't bad and if you use the Dorsoduro 750 for mostly city/day trips, it's on the line of "fine". But a bigger tank would be a welcomed addition.
Sweet bike.
