I have just often wondered why the keypad on alot of drive-up ATM's are also in braille (those little bumps for blind people) :?

Because it is cheaper to mas produce the buttons for ALL ATM's (walkup kind, and drive through) then it is to make special ones for both kinds.

It is a funny thought. I use to think how would a blind person use an ATM?. But I guess they would memorize the prompts with someone's assistance, and use the braille to make sure they pick the right choices. The drive-up thing is even funnier, but I'm sure it is because as stated above, they make all ATMs, drive-up or otherwise the same.

On a similar note - why do they have braille keypads on tv remote controls?
:)

for those of us who have learned to touch type. It's like the raised nubbins on the F and J keys.

God I really take the funny out of things don't I?

They may not see the TV, but some of them enjoy listening to the shows.

You have to wonder with how some people drive if they are blind.

99% of the people on the roads manage to do it somehow....

What I don't get is that at my bank, the drive through has braille on the keypad, but the machine in the lobby doesn't??????
