Harley unveiled their 2018 lineup yesterday, and while there really wasn't anything new besides colours and M8 motors in the Softail family, the shocker was the elimination of the entire Dyna lineup. The Low Rider and Street Bob names still exist, but have now been tacked onto Softail variants.

I've always liked the Super Glide, Low Rider and, more recently, the Street Bob. In fact, if finances had ever permitted there would have been a Street Bob parked next to my Road Glide in the driveway. However, I guess lacklustre sales of the Dynas have resulted in them being dropped from the lineup for good. Bummer.

Just finished putting all the new 2018 models up from the USA, Canada and UK. Interesting stuff this year.

I was surprised the V-Rod line was gone and one of my favorites, the Dyna Wide Glide. At first glance, I wasn't too sure on the new Harley-Davidson designs, but they are growing on me... well, expect the sportsters now look a little too "compacted" vs the new line look.

The Fat Bob is still one of my favorites, but the new version looks will have to take some time to used to. Not a big fan of the headlight look.

I have asked my media rep at Harley-Davidson on more information on the discontinues.

I see they also killed the last V Rod models. Oh, well. Not that I was likely to buy a HD product, but now there's no chance at all. Hope they know what they're doing.

EDIT: I just looked at the new line-up. There's less than zero chance of my buying one of these. Don't know how they did it, but they made their new line up look like cheap knock-off imitations of new Harleys. Blccch.

It's official, I heard back from my Harley-Davidson rep and the V-Rod line is no more.
