Exhaust Pipe Temperature?
Anyone know the approximate (average) running temperature of the exhaust pipes and/or heat shields? I would like to powder coat the shields, the paint shop says they will easily hold up to 400 degress F as they bake it at that temp. Maybe I need to buy a new pipe? I play for real money on the gambling that I choose on this website [LINK REMOVED BY ADMIN] these guys write cool reviews and now I can spend money for my cycle.

Re: Exhaust Pipe Temperature?
I read that exhaust gas temperatures can be in excess of 1000 degrees C, but are typically about 800 degrees C.

Ask the shop if they recommend their product for that application. If not, they should have some alternative for your project.

The Rustoelum High Heat paint rated at 2000 deg F is a good product.

Re: Exhaust Pipe Temperature?
The approximate average running temperature of exhaust pipes and/or heat shields can vary depending on several factors such as the type of vehicle, engine, and exhaust system. However, in general, the typical operating temperature of exhaust pipes and heat shields can range from 300 to 900 degrees Fahrenheit (150 to 480 degrees Celsius). It's important to note that the specific temperature can be influenced by factors such as vehicle speed, engine load, and ambient temperature. Additionally, certain sections of the exhaust system may experience higher temperatures, especially closer to the engine or on sections where catalytic converters are located.
