Crikey O'Reilly! My first post outside of the 'New Bikers' forum Forgive me if it should be back in there

I need some indicators for my bike, however I'd like chrome for the front to match, and I think black will suffice for the back, to go with the 'decor' at the back end - but a question: which end do short and long stemmed indicators go at!

Am I right in assuming the longer stemmed ones go at the back, with the shorter at the front? Or is that the wrong way round?

Around here, I think the different length stalks are just to give you a choice, you can put all long or all short, or flushmount if you want. I think there are various loval laws about what lights you need, how far apart they must be, how high, ect., but they vary, and I've never heard of anyone getting any grief over ant lights except headlight/taillights.

But you British are much more ana about such things, from a legal piont of view. So I imagine you have such regulations and you probably need to prove your bike meets them every year, if I follow your road tax nightmare any. There's a few of your countrymen around here how can probably give more specific info.... let's hope, anyways.

We don't *need* indicators tp pass the MOT test, as you can always give hand signals! However I do want them on, so other road users can have some warning (if they are paying attention) to where I am going. Without my having to also think about flapping my arms around

I can choose between mini rectanglular, spear, arrow, cats eye and diamond.. carbon, black, or chrome.. amber, clear or iridium lenses Where do I start?!

What do the iridium look like when blinking? Are they that rainbow-type colour?? Or do they blink amber.

Mine are yellow, and they work..... that's about the extent of signal light expertize..... But I think most all dedicated signal lights will be yellow/orange when lit-up.

The mounting style is whatever you like best then, innit. I myself like very short or flushmounted ones, so they don't get kicked or something getting on the bike. I have also smacked my own signal lights with various appendages while in motion... it's a distraction I don't need at just that moment, as I am ussually busy enough right then.

This is what I was also thinking, as well as wanting to 'keep it all in'. Try to safeguard them from side knocks. I guess short is the way to go. Now, what shape and lens colour?!?!? *lol* Eeep! Lets not forget, I have the added consumer difficulty of being a woman, so too *much* product choice can cause a fuse to blow *joke* ! ! !

*joke* you say.... O.K., but just alittle bit, huh?

I like the short, thin LED's with clear lenses, so short-stalk replacements are easy as pie for the rears, but my old bike has the front signals built flush with the fairing and those lenses are yellow, I doubt I'll find clear replacements for the old girl, so LED's under the stock yellow lenses it will have to be.....

See.... I know exactly what I want now. Decision made.... Now you.....

Nuthin' to it but to do it. That's the part I always screw up......

Would you suggest that 'regular' mini rectangular indicators would suit the back lights best? Or could the diamond or spear look good too??
