Someone tried to steal my 83 Nighthawk (CB550SC) last night by jamming a screwdriver into the ignition.
The key ignition is now screwed up, and the key wont turn to start the bike. Since the bike is older, I wonder what the most cost effective way to fix this problem. I am on a budget.
Any suggestions?

When I first read it I thought "bummer".
The second time I thought, Deja Vu.
The third time I thought, please stop.
sorry...

Just Go to the Dealer.
I have an 81' CB-750 and I lost both my keys, went to the dealer and had them look up the price of a new ignition for my model...came to like $30 bucks.

Hell- if it ends up being to expensive for you, hide a switch somewhere. Put your key in the ignition and make a play of turning it on, but hit the switch with your other hand. I had a friend do the same thing in a datsun... of course that car had more places to hide a switch, and he needed a second one for the starter... but it was awesome.
