where are you supposed to get rid of used antifreeze easy? ive seen stuff aobut taking it to a hazardous chemical facility but that seems like a huge pain. do any shops like auto zone take used coolant? they take oil but im not sure about coolant. does it evaporate quickly if left in a container(closed enough so no one could get to it).

Anti-freeze will not evaporate. I don't know if anyone collects and recycles it. It has a sweet taste and animals like to drink it. That is thier last drink. Keep it in containers clearly marked until you find some one that will dispose of it for you.

its still in my car, i dont want to drain it untill i know where to take it. i know animals like the smell and want to drink it. i was thinking if i left a tight metal mesh over a bucket of it in the sun it would evap pretty well but if you say it wont then i wont risk that either.
i really want to flush my car radiator though ugh.

I save mine until the city government has a hazardous waste collection day. In Mesa, the next one will be on Oct. 8th. Check out the following website :

Phoenix had one back in June and I got rid of 6 motorcycle batteries, a couple of gallons of antifreeze and several gallons of old motor oil.
