update on my 87 1000r crash

#1 Unread post by klohiq »

The crash was a week or two ago and you can read about it here: viewtopic.php?t=5513&highlight=wet

Cosmetically the bike has started to come back together, but there are a few problems still. There is some oil around the tranny/motor area (not far from the shifter, but definitely not coming from the lever as that is very clean). I'm wondering if it's a leak or it came out when the bike was on its side. Along with that issue the coolant is very low, probably an ounce or two at best in the bottom of the tank. There is no puddle of oil or coolant beneath the bike where is sits usually and no place that I can see that is came out.

Also what brand and type of oil should I use and what brand and type of coolant should I use? As you can see I'm not very familar with motorcycles. [/url]

just my suggestion. but you need to get the bike to someone who knows what they are doing. i wouldnt risk trying to fix it after a crash yourself when you dont know enough. would suck to think it was safe to ride then have another accident because you simple didnt know enough to see a problem on the bike.

you might have frame damage or who knows what that will end up hurting you in the long run.
