I did the same thing for a friend of mine a year ago we spent the day driving around to local yards checking compression on 5 different bikes.
It’s a good idea to bring a jumper pack with you and jump the starter out to turn the bike over if they don't have a kick starter on them.
Just make sure you check the oil for water or lack of oil.
