Honda's matte black finish

I really love the look of the asphalt black paint on the Honda 599. That was a bike I considered purchasing in large part of the look. I have a '96 Nissan 4x4 in bad need of a paint job and think it would look awesome on my truck. I wonder if it would be more expensive than a regular paint job with clear coat? Matte black finish and change over my grill and bumpers to the black and it would really look like some stealthy urban assault vehicle.

I like Honda's asphalt finish too, but I don't know the process they use. I do know it is a whole lot more durable than regular flat paint finishes. I suspect they use a flat-finish psudo-clearcoat on thier paint, but you would have to ask a bodyshop with access to Honda's paint specs.

you should do the rhino guard on your truck. at least the bed and accent parts would look good with the matte black rhino guard, mixxed with a glossy black it would look pretty cool i think.

i painted my nighthawk with black sandable primer and then took semi gloss black ceramic engine enamel and sprayed it. i think i got the desired effect.

2cans primer 2 cans enamel = 20 bucks, you could do a truck for pretty cheap i assume.

Yeah, that's it. I like that subdued look even though my bike is screaming yellow. Good job on the bike.

..rhino liner as a paint job, man that would turns some heads.

Acctually, my old boss had a 1st gen sv650 that he applied kevlar/bedliner to and it looked freakin sweet, it didnt have any gauges or turn signals but it looked cool.
Not safe by any stretch of the imagination, but meh he was a hooligan.
