Does it take all the blue out, or just surface bluing?
I had heard it's impossible to prevent bluing unless you get double-walled pipes, is this true?

I used some stuff, I forget the name. But it was like $12.00 for a container a little bit bigger than a the ones that eyedrops come in. I worked at my pipe for some time and with this product that looked like tootpaste with more grit. The combination of this stuff and my elbow grease got the pipe looking pretty nice. The gold, yellow, brown, purple and blue was gone from my pipe. I took the bike out the next day rode five miles to a friends house, got off the bike and the pipe had a nice gold brown patina that had developed on very short 5 mile trip. So, yea... I think you need double-wall pipes or those that have been jet-hot coated if you want to keep them from blueing.

Try Autosol. Its easy to get in Canada, but has to be ordered online in the US. It truly is the best crhome polish ans so far, in my 20 odd year of biking, has done a good job off keeping my pipes looking good.
