hi my name is lito and im looking for a bike so i can get experience.
im 5.11 and i weigh 150lbs. i recently went to india and stayed there for couple of months and i started riding bikes there. i have ridden up to 500CC (royal enfield)most of the days i was there. and i was thinking about buying a used cbr 600 or R6 so i can ride it for a year and get a cbr1000rr or R1. if u think thats a good idea or a bad idea give me advices please i can really use ur help. i asked someone this question and they said 600cc bikes r heavy, but i think royal enfield is heavier. so please help me out thank you.

Having never ridden a supersport, I can't really comment, but I would expect them to be a lot lighter than most 500s

Start with somthing a bit smaller. a 600 supersport is going to a hell of a lot more powerful than the enfield your used to riding.
Definately take the MSF course.

While I dont think you deserve the usual "get a Ninja 250" advice, do keep in mind you are rather new to riding. There are tons of bikes out there, just dont have you mind stuck onto getting a race replica. Not only are they uncomfortable, you dont have the skills to justify getting a race bike.
You might consider a Ninja 500, SV650,GS500, or if you want to wait long enough for the new models to come out, a Ninja 650. Dont confuse the Ninja 650 with a ZX-6.
A step up from those is an F4i and an FZ600. You will have to take it easy on the latter 2 bikes, they will be a handful for you.
Use your own common sense, read the stickies at the top, and get what advice you can. I think more important than the bike you get is the attitude you approach learning how to ride. Learning is a long term process, not a goal you achieve in six months. If your most important goal is to get a CBR1000RR, your not really taking the risks of riding seriously. Its not what kind of bike you get, its what you feel comfortable and safe riding. For the vast majority of riders, the only thing a CBR1000RR is going to be good for is doing wheelies and going real, real fast in a straight line. Thats not the right approach to take to riding if you want to live long.
Forget the kind of bike you want to get a year from now and concentrate on learning how to ride and survive a lifetime of riding.
