Newbie Checking In

Hi Newbie checking in! Im 22 from WNY never been on a motorcycle.
Tuesday Im taking my written test for a permit. There is a local proram called ride with P.R.I.D.E. , which lets you take their course and bypass a sae road test for licence, was wondering if any one knows anything about it.
I was thinking of Kwasaki Ninja 500 or the suzuki GSF 500. Any suggesions?
Also I already have $800 set aside for saftey gear helmet pants boots jacket etc...
Anything else I need to know?

Welcome, and good luck with the rider course, it's a blast. As for those two bikes, get what ever one you feel better sitting on. As far as performance and speed, i hear they're pretty much the same.

You might look at getting a used bike for the first year.
