Hello out there. I have never posted anything to a site like this before but what the hell it can't hurt in trying something new. I am in the market for a new ride and am seriously looking at the 2005 Vulcan 2000 limited. Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about Kawasaki's new flagship cruiser? I am changing to a cruiser from an old Kawasaki Voyager XII full dresser. I guess I am looking for a new look in my old age and I am not sure why, but the people at Kawasaki seem to have their stuff together shen it comes to styling. I am also considering the Victory Kingpin and am having a tough time trying to decide. Thanks in advance for any input you can give me to help with this decision.

Those are both great choices!

For me, the Vulcan 2000 is the epitome of the big-bore cruiser. Not only does its engine displace in excess of 2000cc's, but it has a one-of-a-kind look while still maintaining that classic cruiser profile. From the wicked belt drive to the locomotive headlight, it's just bad-arse. In addition, it has a soft-tail rearend with a very nice suspension setup, it has fuel-injection, and water-cooled heads. It comes stock with a 200-series rear tire, and the brakes are top shelf units.

With the Victory, you get an off-the-shelf custom with a bad-arse 100ci V-Twin mated to a 6-speed tranny. Victory's look far more expensive than they actually are and, at this point, Polaris really has all the bugs worked out and this latest series of bikes are spot on.

Again, neither choice would be wrong. It's a tough decision I know! On one hand, '04 Vulcan 2000's are going for about $12,000 right now, and they have the largest production V-Twin on the market. On the other hand, while a bit more expensive (and with fewer cc's), the Victory is a gorgeous bike that looks customized from the get-go.
