Does anyone know anyting about these bikes?
I'm looking to get a newer, bigger, better bike next year for daily commuting, and some multi day touring trips. I'm a big guy, 6'3", 230 lbs. I've never ridden or even sat on any bike bigger then 750.
I want something with storage space, a small non obnoxious windsheild, and a semi upright seating position. More comfortable two up riding would be nice too. I also do like something that is more sportbikish looking..

So far i've been looking at
Kawasaki Concours
Honda St1100
Vstrom
FZ1

I'll probably buy something slightly used, and I wont really want to spend any more then 5K for it.

Anyone have anything to say about these bikes, or any other suggestions?

My choice would be the Honda ST1100. It will be slightly more comfortable for you IMHO.

G'day Holiday

I was wondering what a Kawa Concours was till I saw the photo (Kawa GTR1000 here in Aus).

For me, the choice would be either the Honda ST or Kawa GTR, both capable tourers and able to be reasonablely sporty when needed. Also both offer good pillion comfort.

The Kawa has been around for some 15 years and they are still made I think. Says something for the model run (very long for the japs).

Ride safe

For your budget of $5,000 you'll probably only be able to find a good used Concours. The ST1100 has a cult following (as does the Connie) and it holds its resale very well. The V-Strom hasn't been around very long, so I can't imagine there are too many for sale that cheap yet.
