So I've got rust problems in the tank- and I thought I fixed it-- inline fuel filter and fixed petcock screen-- but coming home form work - full tank -- jerking forward, dying, but never quite all the way - then it's perfect for 6 miles- and it starts all over for the next 10 miles. Today I yank the filter, drop the float bowl, look for rust, blow out the carb (using a bike pump with an old valve & fuel line)- nothing- still chokes up and I'm wondering do I have to visit the dealer(!) (hasn't been there yet- ever). Then I'm thinking all this noise is from up front and its pretty warm near the manifold/exhaust - maybe- the bolts are loose- bingo- tighten them up and it runs like a top - so I zip up the road (run a mile up a hill so I can coast back (!) ..done it before...and its a charm- so I can take it to work tomorrow... --check that exhaust manifold
