Too bad they left out the Ninja 250. For a starter bike, I think it has the best potential for a city bike that can also take to the highway. Something that might make an owner keep it longer than the others tested.

Hell, I've been seriously considering buying a 250 for commuting and local fun. Unlike some of our noob posters, I think that if a bike has the power/performance to do the job you need it to do, you don't automatically "outgrow" it once you've gained some experience. I've been riding consistently for 25 yrs. and can see the point in owning one of these little bikes.

Ditto Flyn, my daughter rides a scooter and I am thinking of a 250 or even a scooter for me to ride places with her. If I get out the K1200S she puts her scoot away and climbs on the back. When I get a chance to "steal" her scoot I have loads of fun. It's not just about horse power and I do not get the big bike out to go to the shops on. Sometimes she has way more fun than me.
