Motorcycle Helmet Laws

1. Do you believe motorcycles are dangerous?

A. Yes, extremely B. Yes, somewhat C. Not really D. Not at all

2. Have you ever ridden a motorcycle(dirt bikes, motocross bikes, street bikes)?

A. Yes(if yes, do question 3) B. No(if no, skip question 3 and 4)

C. Not really - i no longer feel any less safe on a bike than any other form of transport...

2. Have you ever ridden a motorcycle(dirt bikes, motocross bikes, street bikes)?
A. Yes


3. How did you feel?

exhillerated, excited, fulfilled, happy, maybe scared (at first!) there are so many more feelings that words are not going to express

Yes, absolutely - it's about the most important piece of the body, near enough anything else can heal. Any impact that is absorbed is a step in the right direction

6. Do you think helmet laws should be enforced in southern States that presently do not have laws?

Yes

7. Do you think there should be an age limit on the law, (ie. Helmets are mandatory for anyone under the age of 18 ) and if so, what do you think it should be?

No - it should be for ALL ages - there arwe stupid older people as well....

Yes. 21 and over with at least two years of riding or have taken the MSF course and have medical insurance.

3. The closest thing to flying, which I used to do. Free, surroundings in slow motion, fresh air (usually), lateral g force detectable on curves....eeehah!

Like I was flying. Like everything bothering me was left in the dust. Like if I die doing this, it's very much worth it. Never want to drive a car again. Cars are a waste of life.

4a. Why or why not?

Firstly, because it protects the head to a degree. I'd hate to grind my face off in a wreck, and sometimes wrecks are unavoidable. Secondly, the fine for no helmet might as well be in the millions. I can't afford it.

I don't think they should be mandatory to anyone. It's like the seatbelt laws. You're only putting your own life at risk, so it should be choice. That being said, I'd never ride without one.

Free, content, fresh air, etc...

4. Did you wear a helmet?

Yes

4a. Why or why not?

As a former medic (recently retired) I have seen the results of what happens when one doesn't wear a helmet - even if someone was wearing a helmet and crashed, the scenes were easier to handle and the injuries were much less horrific.

Yes, absolutely.

In my opinion, anyone under the age of 16 (where I live a person can get a drivers license at age 16) must where a helmet. I believe that if the law permits a helmet free rider, it is then a personal decision whether they wear one or not. If I had my, though, everyone would have to wear a helmet... my opinion only.
