Makers of Gran Turismo are up to Great Good
So it would seem that the makers of the Gran Turismo series of racing games are in fact working on a bike racing simulator. Somthing i have been waiting for for a while, as i prefer realism over arcade style racers

the biggest problem with these type of games IMO is that they often use a non-linear control model...meaning that %5 more stick does not give %5 more steering input, it gives like %7... then it snowballs exponentially as you get further into the steering.
I guess they feel that it makes it easier for stupids to drive it? i dunno, but it drives me crazy.
Need for speed 3 for PS1 was perfectly linear. GT4 for PS2 was close, but the input does pile up on that game...not horribly, but it is there.
Now, to my point....as long as they get the steering right and the input is linear, it should be a kick-"O Ring" game!!

Motogp is fun, However unrealistic it is...
That is why i cant wait for the polyphony game cause it'll be realistic, being its from the GT folks. hope they have a nighthawk in there eventually
GT4 was like that buzz, It was possible to feed power slowly to the tires, but the problem was it was really hard to do, because you were pushing in a button, not sure how thats gonna work out in the TT game.
i was reading up on it however and you canuse one of the joysticks to move the rider around to transfer weight to different places on the bike, which sounds really neat.

Dude! (what's mine say) Sweet!
I can't wait. If it's anything like GT it will be the best bike simulator game out there.
Believe it or not the Dual Shock II controller, the black on that came with your PS2 has analog input on every button. The problem is the range of movement on the buttons is very small so it's almost useless. Try lightly pressing the x button on your controller while you're waiting for the light tree or the countdown in your favorite racing game, you'll see.
There is a great controller for driving games that never really took hold, I don't think it was ever offered in the states. It's called NeGcon and it's made by Namco. It came out with the original Playstation and I got one. It really made playing Ridge Racer much easier. It's too bad they never updated it for use with the PS2. You can still use it but there are a few missing buttons.
Here is a picture...

The way it works is by twisting the controller about the center twist left go left, twist right go right. There were also very analog gas and brake buttons. Nothing like the Dual Shock II.
