We start to get pictures this time of the year and a big campain to try reduce our Christmas death toll. This is SA's big holiday time and we usually have at least a couple of thousand deaths on the roads each year.



Don't know the story behind this one but it looks nasty.

I'm trying to figure out the angle of how the biker crashed into the car and which direction each was going. mY first guess was that he skidded and slammed into the side with his rear wheel but then that doesn't explain how his rear wheel gets lodged into the passenger side window. Or maybe he flew into the car, but that wouldn't explain the big gash on the frame of the door. Weird looking crash, but definitely ugly.

Odd... It almost looks like the car got the most damage of the two vehicles. Almost like the bike ran up it before falling over.

Am also confused as to how the angles got that way, but in a crash you just never know. I am hoping that the rider bailed before impact. The whole point behind this post is that the silly season is coming and cagers in particular get really stupid. I had a report last year of two guys killed in a car crash and when the fire dept cut them out of the car the found over 30 cans of beer that had been consumed by these guys.

are those newspapers covering blood?

It boggles teh mind. I'd definately like to see how that worked out (too bad we don't have video cameras in such areas).


By the way, the bike in the picture looks a lot like the one in the OP's avatar.

Edit: And keep in mind that not everything in the picture was necessarily from the accident.

I drove around a car for a year or two that had the front end sort of mangled but decided to keep it that way. It looked cool IMO and plus I didn't have the cash to repair it.

Had I gotten in a wreck with that car it would have looked a lot worse than it really was.

Thats an easy one.

They were probably braking hard to avoid the accident so when the front hit it sent the rider over the top with the back of the bike following. The seat area would have struck near the roof of the car and gravity brought it to rest with the rear wheel in the window. The front wheel would have been lucky to get off the ground.

Either way it looks pretty untidy.

Sure makes a change to when I was a medical M/C Courier in the BIG city! (Melbourne)

I hope the rider survived.
