Greetings From Nashville
Hello all. I am joining the Navy, and decided that owning a bike would be an easier mode of transporation from base to base than a car, and I've wanted a bike for awhile, so I decided to take the plunge and go for it. I generally research the crap out of anything before I do it, and this was no exception. I found this site to be a GREAT help to me in making some decisions, as well as making some choices I didn't even know I needed to make! I think i've finally decided on the V-Star 650 Custom as my first bike. I went and sat on it today at a local dealership and i'll be damned if I didn't just fit right nice on it.
Thanks again for the great site. i've spent a lot of time poking around the forums and it seems like a great community here. I'm looking forward to using you all for my own selfish needs and stealing from all of your years of experience for my own benefit. *smiles* Glad to be here.

I used to live near Nashville, left around 1989. Between Springfield and Greenbrier on HWY41 (IIRC).
You are lucky. Now that I have a bike, I'd love to be back there. Some great backroads. Also, Briley Pkwy is (was at the time) built for speed. Friend of mine had us at around 140mph once in an old Dodge Charger. It was smooth and well banked back then

Don't think of it as a stop light. Think of it as a chance-to-show-off light.
