Bent frame worth fixing?

#1 Unread post by Books »

I have the opportunity to get an early 80's Honda 650 with a slightly bent frame (how badly bent I don't know). It's in pieces right now but has everything needed to get it running when it's back together. I'm very new to cycles - first timer, actually. The bike belongs to my nephew and I can have it for free. So... before I invest the time, is it possible, advisable, to straighten a bent frame?
Thanks

Bent frames can be straightened but to do it right it needs to be done on a professional frame-straightening machine which means $$$.
My suggestion would be to find out the cost of having this done vs picking up a second hand frame and then decide whether it is worth the money and effort.
