Hello All, I have been kicking around looking at a 1995-2000 Magna 750, my concern is the availability of parts/mods. Is this a legit concern. Would value your guys/gals opinion on the Magna itself as a 1st bike.
Thank you much! Scootini

You know, it might be a touch heavy for a first bike for some folks. But if you think you can handle the weight it will probably be ok - a lot of folks start with bikes that big these days. See if you can get the chance to sit on one and roll it a bit. No matter what you get your first bike will probably feel a little heavy. Are you taking the MSF? I'd recommend it. Anyway, those are certainly great bikes and the series was popular for a long time. I don't think you'll have a problem finding parts at all.

I agree you shouldn't have any trouble finding parts especially since it's a fairly recent year bike.
For weight I don't think you'll have a problem. It has a low center of gravity. My first bike was a kz440 and it was ridiculously top heavy so even though it was smaller displacement it was harder to maneuver than the magna.

Awesome bike, it was my first (I had a '95). If I ever find another one at the right price I'd buy it. Smooth as silk and powerful, great handling. You won't notice the weight after being on it a few times. There are a number of Magna sites/message boards available, as well as a national owner's association. Parts and know-how specific to the Magna are plentiful.

I would have to agree it was a great beginner bike. I had an 84, which made parts a little harder to come by but not that bad. Really the only part I had trouble getting was a starter, which other then the battery was the only part I ever had to replace. They are great bikes.
