Returning to riding after a much too long hiatus. Woo Hoo!

Hello all,
Just writing to say 'Hi'. I recently purchased a 1982 Yamaha XS400J Maxim after selling my last bike over 10 years ago. I rode dirt bikes as a kid, hada 750 in high school and a little 200 in college. I was missing the fun and 'open' experience of riding and sold my wife on the idea of getting another bike.
I started shopping around a little over a month ago, and decided I wanted more than a 350 (for my 300+ size) and smaller than a 650 (for parking and handling). I looked at everything from a '75 Honda 360 TT to a '92 Suzuki GS500. I finally settled on the Maxim as it was BY FAR in the best condition, the power was good, and the price was right ($900).
I am taking the STAR class (Idaho motorcycle training) this weekend and I am looking forward to getting lotsa miles in over the next year and probably moving up to a 750 or so.
Ride Safe!
P.S. Don't tell my boss, but I've been late to work every day this week since I've been taking teh loooong way to work.
